Danielle Santal started Journeys in 1997 after retiring from teaching French
at Southern Connecticut State University in New Haven, CT.
A native of Paris, France, she has traveled all over the world, for many years, following in her globe-trotting father's footsteps. Both as a tourist and a travel professional, she can make recommendations to nearly everywhere, whether an independent or escorted trip, whether cultural, adventurous, romantic, traditional, from a weekend to several weeks or more...
Her passion is to plan travel which creates memorable experiences for her clients.
She can recommend a wide range of hotels, from the unique to the quaint, from the large and prestigious to the small or luxurious property: she has stayed there in person or visited them, developing wonderful relationships with owners and managers.
Because she enjoys good food, she knows restaurants and can recommend them knowingly, stepping outside the available tourist guides which rarely recommend smaller, less prestigious eateries: Danielle knows so many of them personally, such as the one which serves the best Chinese food in Melbourne (Australia), or North African food in London, or Catalan specialties in Barcelona... Her list is long and varied!
As an art and history lover, she can recommend small provincial museums, and can find out which opera plays at La Scala or Opera Bastille at any given time, which jazz musicians will be performing at a club in Paris or Prague, on what days museums are open and so on...
As an inveterate shopper, she can even provide the names of good stores where to find clothes, antiques, toys, books...
The affiliation of Journeys with the Adler Travel Agency of Hamden, Connecticut, means a constant and reliable source of additional expertise and support in all areas of travel.
See what the people whose trips she has planned have to say!
